Often growing to lengths of over thirty inches and weighing in excess of 20 lbs, tangling with a redfish will leave you with shaking knees and a grin from ear to ear.

With their intimate knowledge of the countless bays and flats from Matagorda Island to Baffin Bay, Captain Mike Cook and Captain Steve Utley will provide you with a flyfishing adventure that you will remember for a lifetime.

Captain Mike Cook has been flyfishing and guiding on the Texas coast for more than twenty years. Mike specializes in sight fishing for redfish with a flyrod and light tackle.

Operating out of Rockport Texas, Mike considers the countless back bays and flats from Port Aransas,and Rockpot to Aransas Pass his home waters. You will spend your day fishing from Mike's 17' Maverick technical poling skiff. It is a boat specifically designed for fly fishing extremely shallow water.

Whether you are an expert or novice, your day on the water with Captain Mike will leave you with a rich and rewarding experience and a new friend. Mike is a licensed Texas Fishing Guide and holds a USCG Captains license.

Cook's Guide Service

Captain Steve Utley and his wife Susan own and operate Blue Heron Adventures out of Corpus Christi Texas.

Steve guides out of a Ranger technical poling skiff specially designed for shallow water flyfishing.

For the more adventurous, Steve offers guided kayak fishing trips. Though more physically challenging, kayak fishing affords the opportunity to access extremely remote areas unreachable by other watercraft.

Steves expertise and knowledge of the bays and flats from Port Aransas to Baffin Bay will ensure that your fly fishing adventure will be one of the most memorable in your life. Steve is a licensed Texas Fishing Guide and holds a USCG Captains license
